Whether you seek seasonal farm fresh produce, the opportunity to pick your own vegetables, fruit and berries, cut your own Christmas tree, take a horseback ride, purchase flowers, or simply an enjoyable drive through our rural countryside, you can find it in Sussex County.
A visit in the Winter months may include a family outing to find the perfect Christmas tree, a sleigh ride over farm fields or a stay in a Bed and Breakfast within our farming communities. Come in the Spring and enjoy the awakening of the season as fields are planted and baby animals are born. There are farms offering educational experiences on how our food is produced. Visit a greenhouse and take home a piece of Sussex County for your garden. The Summer offers abundant choices—pick your own vegetables, fruits and berries, and farmstands with specialty foods including fresh eggs and organic produce. The Autumn is a special time in Sussex County. Our Fall colors rival those of New England, and our scenic vistas and state and federal parklands offer many opportunities for a variety of outdoor activities including horseback riding over miles of public and private trails. This is harvest time. Take a harvest hayride through corn fields to that special pumpkin patch. Watch the fiery colors of Fall while sipping fresh apple cider.
